Quik Drive — Rental Terms & Conditions

1. Acceptance of Terms

By booking a vehicle with Quik Drive ("we", "us", "our"), the person making the booking ("you", "the renter") agrees to these Terms & Conditions, the price and protection tier selected at the time of booking, and any location-specific terms provided at pickup.

2. Eligibility

• You must hold a current, valid driver's licence (Australian or an accepted overseas/international licence) for the entire rental period.
• Minimum renter age and any young-driver surcharge are set per vehicle category and shown at the time of booking.
• A valid credit or debit card in the renter's name is required at pickup for the security bond and any charges under these Terms.
• We may decline a booking or refuse vehicle handover if licence, age, or payment requirements are not met at pickup.

3. Bookings, Payment & Cancellation

• Prices shown at checkout are in Australian Dollars (AUD) and include the base rental rate, your selected protection tier, and any add-ons chosen.
• Full payment (or the deposit stated at booking) is charged at the time of booking unless a "pay at pickup" option is offered for your booking.
• Free cancellation applies up to the cut-off shown at booking; cancellations after that point, or no-shows, may be charged in line with the cancellation policy shown at checkout.
• We reserve the right to substitute a vehicle of equal or higher category if your exact vehicle is unavailable at pickup.

4. Using the Vehicle

The vehicle must only be driven by the renter and any additional drivers added (and paid for) at booking. The vehicle must not be:

• driven off sealed/formed roads unless the vehicle category and booking specifically permit it;
• used to tow, unless a towing add-on was purchased;
• used for any illegal purpose, racing, or driving instruction;
• sub-let, re-hired, or used to carry passengers or goods for hire or reward;
• taken outside the terms of the geographic area agreed at booking without prior written approval.

Smoking in the vehicle incurs a cleaning fee as shown in your Rental Agreement.

5. Fuel

Choose one fuel option at booking: prepaid fuel (return the vehicle with any fuel level, no refund for unused fuel), staff refuel (we refuel on return and charge the location's refuelling rate, shown in your Rental Agreement), or return full (return with a full tank to avoid any refuelling charge).

6. Protection, Excess & Fees

• Every rental includes Standard Cover (including Third Party/CTP liability cover) as a baseline.
• You may select a higher protection tier at booking to reduce or waive the Damage Recovery Fee (DRF) payable in the event of loss or damage, as shown for your selected tier at the time of booking.
• A Single Vehicle Accident (SVA) fee may apply at non-metro locations for incidents not involving another identified vehicle, in addition to the DRF, unless your protection tier waives it. Applicable SVA is confirmed on your Rental Agreement at pickup.
• Roadside Protection, if purchased, waives the call-out fee for customer-caused roadside assistance (e.g. flat battery, lock-out, incorrect fuel); without it, a call-out fee applies as shown in your Rental Agreement. Roadside Protection does not cover cost of replacement keys or towing arising from an at-fault accident.
• Overhead (roof) and undercarriage damage are not covered by any protection tier; the renter is responsible for these costs regardless of tier selected.

7. Accidents & Breakdowns

In an accident: ensure everyone's safety, contact police and emergency services if required, do not admit liability, record details of all parties and witnesses, and call our Roadside Assistance line (shown in your booking confirmation and on the vehicle's glovebox card) as soon as safely possible. Report any damage or incident to us within 24 hours. Vehicle repairs must be pre-approved by Quik Drive.

8. Tolls, Fines & Infringements

The renter is responsible for all tolls, parking fines, and traffic infringements incurred during the rental period, plus a reasonable administration fee for processing any notices we receive on your behalf.

9. Returning the Vehicle

Return the vehicle on time, to the agreed location, in the same condition as at pickup (fair wear and tear excepted). Late returns may incur additional daily charges. A cleaning fee applies if the vehicle is returned excessively dirty inside.

10. Liability & Bond

A security bond is authorised on your card at pickup and released after the vehicle is returned and inspected, less any amounts owing under these Terms (damage, fuel, tolls/fines, late fees, cleaning). To the maximum extent permitted by law, Quik Drive's liability for any indirect or consequential loss arising from your rental is excluded; nothing in these Terms limits any right or remedy you have under the Australian Consumer Law that cannot lawfully be excluded.

11. Privacy

We collect and use your personal information to process your booking, verify identity/licence details, and administer your rental, in line with our Privacy Policy.

12. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of Victoria, Australia, and each party submits to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Victoria.
